Adobe has unveiled new AI-powered features in Acrobat designed to help users better understand complex contract language and terms. The update aims to address a common problem - studies show that 70% of consumers sign contracts without fully comprehending their terms.

The new Contract AI capabilities, available through the Acrobat AI Assistant, can automatically detect when a document is a contract and provide clear explanations of complex legal terminology. Users can now receive simplified summaries of key terms, recommended questions to consider, and compare up to ten different versions of a contract simultaneously.

"Control F is dead," notes Lori DeFurio, Adobe product executive. "Why would I ever search again when I can just ask?" The system acts as an intelligent research assistant, helping users locate and understand important contract elements while providing citations to source material.

Early users report significant time savings, with many cutting contract review time by 70-80%. "I used to spend 45 minutes on initial contract reviews. Now I typically finish in under 10 minutes," says Austin Bailey, a real estate development executive who tested the feature.

Adobe emphasizes that while the tool helps comprehension, it does not provide legal advice. The company also maintains strict data security protocols - customer documents are not stored or used to train AI models.

The new features are available worldwide on desktop, web, and mobile platforms for an additional $4.99 monthly fee for individual users. Currently supporting English only, Adobe plans to expand language capabilities in the future.

This enhancement reflects Adobe's broader strategy to make complex documents more accessible while maintaining its position in the document management market. With over 650 million monthly active Acrobat users, the company aims to transform how people interact with and understand legal documents.
