Apple has pulled the first iOS 18.4 beta release from multiple devices following reports of serious technical issues. The beta software is no longer available for any iPhone 12 models, including the mini, standard, Pro, and Pro Max versions.

The removal comes after users experienced a "boot loop" problem that left their devices unusable. The issue causes affected phones to repeatedly restart without successfully completing the boot process.

Beyond the iPhone 12 series, the beta has also been withdrawn from select iPad Air and entry-level iPad models. Some cellular-enabled iPad Air units may have faced additional unique complications separate from the boot loop problem.

The technical difficulties have extended to Apple's wearable line as well, with the company removing the watchOS 11.4 beta from Apple Watch Series 6 devices.

While Apple is expected to release new versions of both iOS 18.4 and watchOS 11.4 betas for these affected devices, no specific timeline has been announced. This type of beta software removal has occurred multiple times in the past.

This situation highlights why Apple consistently recommends users back up their devices before installing beta software, as pre-release versions can contain serious bugs that impact device functionality.
