ASUS has unveiled its latest professional monitor, the ProArt Display 5K (PA27JCV), positioning it as a direct competitor to Apple's Studio Display at half the price point.

The new 27-inch LCD monitor matches the Studio Display's impressive 5K resolution and 218 pixels per inch on its LED-backlit IPS panel. Color accuracy appears to be a major focus, with the display covering 100% sRGB, 95% AdobeRGB, and 99% DCI-P3 color spaces.

While the ProArt 5K's brightness peaks at 400 nits for regular content and 500 nits for HDR - lower than Apple's 600 nits - it makes up for this with superior versatility. Unlike the Mac-focused Studio Display monitor, ASUS's monitor works seamlessly with both Mac and PC systems.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, featuring USB-C, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, multiple USB ports, and 96-watt power delivery. The stand offers full ergonomic adjustments including height, tilt, swivel, and pivot - features that require costly upgrades on Apple's display.

Creative professionals may appreciate the monitor's LuxPixel technology, which provides an anti-glare coating for a paper-like viewing experience. Each unit ships with a Calman color pre-calibration report, confirming factory calibration to delta E < 2 color accuracy.

The ASUS ProArt Display 5K is now available at $799, presenting an attractive alternative to the $1,599 Studio Display for professionals seeking a high-resolution, color-accurate monitor.
