DJI has unveiled its groundbreaking DJI Dock 3, a revolutionary "drone-in-a-box" system that can be mounted on moving vehicles, marking a major advancement in autonomous drone operations. This new system represents a leap forward from its predecessor, the Dock 2, which was limited to fixed installations.

The DJI Dock 3 boasts impressive environmental resilience with an IP56 rating for dust and water resistance, operating in extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C. In a unique innovation, the system allows two dock units to be mounted on a single vehicle, enabling continuous drone operations through seamless rotations.

The dock comes equipped with two specialized drone models: the Matrice 4D and 4TD. Both drones feature extended flight capabilities, with up to 54 minutes of forward flight time and 47 minutes of hover time. The Matrice 4D excels in mapping and surface inspections with its advanced camera system, while the Matrice 4TD specializes in emergency response and public safety missions, equipped with thermal imaging and night vision capabilities.

Control and automation are handled through the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller, which introduces an innovative airborne relay feature. This allows one drone to extend the range of another, maintaining operations even in areas with poor connectivity. The system integrates with FlightHub 2, offering automated flight routes and sophisticated object tracking capabilities.

The dock system supports an array of accessories, including LiDAR and radar for enhanced navigation, a powerful spotlight with 100-meter range, and a real-time speaker system reaching up to 300 meters. Data security remains a priority, with AES-256 encryption and comprehensive ISO certifications built into the system.

While pricing details remain undisclosed, the DJI Dock 3 is available through authorized DJI Enterprise dealers, promising to revolutionize mobile drone operations across various industries.
