Nord Security's founders have unveiled their latest venture, Nexos.ai, backed by $8 million in funding to help enterprises effectively deploy AI projects into production. The startup focuses on bringing enhanced visibility, security, and flexibility to large language models (LLMs).

Founded by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, who previously built the $3 billion company Nord Security, Nexos.ai aims to address the challenges enterprises face when moving AI projects from testing to production environments.

The venture has attracted notable investors, including Index Ventures as lead investor, marking their first investment in Lithuania. Other backers include Creandum, Dig Ventures, and CEOs from companies like Datadog, Klarna, Supercell, and Wix.

Solving Enterprise AI Challenges

Nexos.ai offers a streamlined solution through an API that provides access to over 200 AI models from providers like OpenAI and Anthropic. The platform enables automatic switching between providers if service interruptions occur and implements intelligent caching to reduce costs.

The inspiration for Nexos.ai came from real-world challenges encountered at Hostinger, where unexpected AI implementation costs and service reliability issues highlighted the need for better management tools.

Security and Data Protection

The platform incorporates security features to protect sensitive data and manage access controls. While Nexos.ai currently hosts infrastructure, future plans include self-hosting options and support for companies' internal LLMs. The system includes safeguards to detect and appropriately route sensitive information.

Quick Development and Launch

The project moved rapidly from concept to reality in just six weeks, leveraging the founders' experience and Tesonet's existing infrastructure of 4,000 employees. The platform has assembled a core team of 30 people and is working with beta customers ahead of its planned launch in March.

This development comes at a time when enterprises are moving beyond initial AI experimentation to practical implementation, creating demand for robust infrastructure solutions. The founders' track record with Nord Security and the current market timing has attracted strong investor interest in this new venture.
