A newly leaked image has surfaced showing what could be Apple's upcoming ultra-thin "iPhone 17 Air," featuring a distinctive horizontal camera bar design.

The blurry photo, shared by leaker "Majin Bu," displays two iPhone shells with a pill-shaped raised camera bar across the top. The bar appears to house a single circular camera cutout on the left side, accompanied by an LED flash and microphone hole on the right.

This single-camera setup aligns with previous rumors about the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to be the only model in the iPhone 17 lineup featuring a solo rear camera. The horizontal camera bar design marks a notable departure from Apple's traditional square camera bump seen in current models.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 17 Air could measure just 5.5mm at its thinnest point, making it the slimmest iPhone ever produced. This ultra-thin design reportedly comes with some trade-offs, including:

  • Single rear camera
  • Single speaker
  • No physical SIM card slot
  • A19 chip instead of the A19 Pro
  • Smaller battery capacity

The device is expected to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with Dynamic Island, Face ID, and 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence features.

While the leaker has previously provided accurate information about iPhone color options, their track record remains mixed. Given the prevalence of AI-generated images and counterfeit devices, the authenticity of this leak cannot be confirmed.

Apple is anticipated to unveil the complete iPhone 17 lineup, including the Air model, in September 2025.
