Microsoft and LG revealed at CES 2025 that Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available on select LG Smart TVs later this year, expanding gaming accessibility without the need for a console.
The new feature will be integrated into LG's Gaming Portal, allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream games directly from the Game Pass library. Players will also have access to stream select games they already own, even if those titles aren't part of Game Pass.
Notable games highlighted for the service include Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and the upcoming RPG Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment, launching February 18. Popular titles like Hogwarts Legacy will also be accessible for players who own them digitally.
"This partnership will enrich the gaming experience on LG Smart TVs with a broader selection of popular games," said Chris Jo, LG Senior VP of Platform Business. The Gaming Portal aims to provide users with a seamless and convenient gaming experience.
While specific TV models haven't been announced yet, both companies plan to reveal compatible devices and regional availability in the coming months. Access to Xbox Cloud Gaming will require an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, priced at $20 per month.
This move follows Microsoft's similar partnership with Samsung TVs, as the tech giant continues to expand its cloud gaming presence beyond traditional gaming hardware.
