Samsung is a global brand known for releasing new smart gadgets very frequently and newest releases in competitive smartphone and tablet market are, the A-Series smartphone Samsung Galaxy A8 and a tablet in the Note series, Galaxy Note 5.

Both the devices offer great value for money, in India Galaxy A8 costs Rs. 31,490 and the Note 5 costs 53,900 rupees only, but you must check out the detail features and specifications below to decide that which device is made for you and must grab before your friends do.

Samsung Galaxy A8

The Samsung Galaxy A8 was launched in July 2015 and is now available in various colors like Pearl white, Midnight black and Champagne gold. The alternate name of the phone is SM-A800F.

Design and Build

The phone has a beautiful design and it comes with an ultra-slim full metallic body which gives a really exceptional grip and it gives the phone an elegant look. It weighs 151 grams and the dimensions of the phone are 158.00×76.80×5.90mm.

Display

The great Samsung Galaxy A8 handset comes with a 5.7-inches-full HD Super AMOLED display (73.8% screen to body ratio), 16M colors which confirms that the display appears vibrant. The super AMOLED capacitive touch screen has a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and ha 386 PPI pixel density. The phone supports multi touch. And, whether it comes with corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection or not, that has to be confirmed yet.

Chipset, RAM, Storage

The platform of the phone is Android OS and v5.1 lollipop along with the Touch Wiz UI atop it and the chipset is Qualcomm MSM8939, Snapdragon-615. Along with Samsung’s proprietary UI, you also get pre-installed apps such as Galaxy Apps, Smart Manager, WeChat and so on.

On the left homepage, you have the Flipboard application. It has an octa-core processor with quad-core processor cluster clocked at 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 and the other one is at 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 and Adreno 405 GPU. The processor make is Exynos 5430. This is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage. One of the SIM card slots can also be used as MicroSD card which lets you expand the storage up to 128GB.The phone has a dual nano SIM card slots on the left-hand side. It can take in one a 4G SIM card and another one can take a 3G SIM card. You can have both SIM cards, or have one SIM card and you can even use a microSD card on the other card slot in case if you want to increase the storage up to 128GB.

The phone also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and sensors like fingerprint sensor, proximity sensor and so on.

Camera

The camera is super awesome. The Primary camera is 16 MP i.e 5312×2988 pixels and it comes with autofocus option, LED flash facility and supports features like geo-tagging, face detection and HDR. It also comes with touch focus and panorama features. It has a 5MP – 1080 pixel secondary camera and video supported as 1080@30fps.

Battery

Talking about the battery, well it has a non-removable Li-Ion 3050 mAh battery. The battery has an endurance rate of 98 hours. The stand-by of the Samsung Galaxy A8 handset is up to 17 hours on 3G on talk time and the stand-by on music play is up to 51 hours.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a game changer or deal breaker for long time fans of the Android phablet, now that it has a premium look and feel. It has a 5.7-inch of display, a super-fast processor; improved camera and S-Pen stylus is added in this release, glass and metal design that reflects the solid construction of the Samsung Galaxy S6. On the basis of the looks, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is on par with the Apple and HTC smart phones.

With a brilliant display of 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6mm, the Note 5 dimensions are bigger than Samsung’s 5.1-inch of regular devices, it is also a bit smaller and sleeker than the Note 4. It is lighter too, at just 171grams even with its brilliant construction of metal-and-glass. Its back glass also curves inward on both the sides. This subtle curved back and its smaller footprint made it easier and simple to carry in your hand. It gives a firm grim on the phone so it won’t slip away from your hand, even with the smooth glossy metal body. The phone has been launched in August 2015 and is now available in various colors like black sapphire, silver titan, gold platinum and white pearl.

Display and Body

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a metal and glass body and looks seriously gorgeous.

It has a super AMOLED capacitive 5.7 inch touch screen which has 75.9% screen to body ratio and has resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and 518 PPI pixel density. The phone weighs 171 grams-6.03 oz. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 offers only Nano-SIM. Talking about the dimensions, the phone is 153.2×76.1×7.6mm or it is 6.03×3.00×0.30 inches. The handset also supports multi touch and the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Platform and Memory

The phone has Android OS and v5.1.1-Lollipop as its operating system and the chipset is Exynos-7420. The CPU of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is Quadcore 1.5GHz CortexA53 and Quad Core 2.1GHz CortexA57 and GPU as Mali-T760MP8. The phone does not have a memory card slot but it doesn’t even need one with such a great internal memory capacity. It has 32/64GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM.

Camera

The Camera is pretty great and the primary camera is 16 MP and it has auto focus, optical image stabilization and LED flash which is 5312×2988 pixels. The primary camera has features like Geo-tagging, simultaneous image and HD video recording, panorama, face-smile detection, HDR and touch focus. The video quality offered is 2160p@30 fps and 1080p@60fps and comes with features like optical stabilization and another feature is dual-video recording.  The secondary camera is of 5 MP.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery and as per the battery tests, the endurance rating is of 85 hours.
