Tech giant Apple is preparing to release its latest iPhone SE 4 and iPad 11 models before April this year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The devices are currently under development alongside iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 software updates.
The upcoming iPhone SE 4, reportedly codenamed "V59," is expected to undergo a major redesign similar to the iPhone 14. The new model will feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID authentication, and a USB-C port replacing the previous Lightning connector. The device will also include a 48-megapixel rear camera, enhanced A-series processor, and 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence features.
This release timeline represents a shift from Apple's traditional March-April launch window for SE models. The change may be influenced by European Union regulations requiring USB-C ports, as Apple recently stopped selling Lightning port versions in EU markets.
The new iPad 11, codenamed "J481," will maintain its current design while receiving internal upgrades. The tablet will feature increased RAM and a newer A-series chip to accommodate Apple Intelligence capabilities.
While specific pricing details remain unconfirmed, industry observers anticipate a modest price increase from the current iPhone SE's $429 starting point, given the substantial hardware improvements.
The release window places these devices ahead of iOS 18.4, with Apple also expected to announce updated MacBook Air models featuring M4 chips before these launches.
