Nvidia Confirms Switch 2's Next-Gen Features: DLSS, Ray Tracing, and 10x Performance Boost

In a groundbreaking announcement, Nvidia has revealed key technical details about Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 console, confirming that its custom processor delivers a massive performance leap over its predecessor.

According to Nvidia's latest blog post, the Switch 2's GPU features dedicated RT Cores and Tensor Cores, enabling advanced graphics capabilities like real-time ray tracing for realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows. The new hardware also supports Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, which uses AI to boost resolution while maintaining image quality.

Perhaps most impressively, Nvidia states the Switch 2's graphics performance is 10 times faster than the original Switch. This dramatic improvement allows the console to output games at up to 4K resolution in TV mode and achieve 120 frames per second at 1080p in handheld mode.

The Switch 2 also introduces G-Sync support in handheld mode, eliminating screen tearing during gameplay. Additional AI-powered features include face tracking and background removal for enhanced social gaming and streaming capabilities.
